Open Access

Publish in hybrid journals

Increasingly, authors publishing in traditional subscription-based journals can make their research available in open access by paying a fee directly to the publisher.

These fees either allow authors to self-archive their research in a repository or enable publishers to make articles freely available upon publication. In some cases, both options apply.

To help cover these fees, you can apply for funding through the University’s Author Fund.

Some granting agencies provide funds within grants to specifically cover costs associated with disseminating research. These can also cover any open access fees.

Here is a list of publishers and societies that provide fee-based options for open access dissemination.
